Let us not stop where we left off in the last issue of the Bible Light on the News, but lets go on to greater revelation. For this we hunger: THE TRUTH OF GOD.
Do you want to know the mind of God and His thinking process? Study the Word, the prophets and writers of the First and Second Testaments. Meditate upon it, memorize it, for it gives truths going back to "before the foundation of the world." (Matt. 13:15; 25:34; John 17:24; Eph. 1:4; Heb. 4:3; I Pet. 1:20; Rev. 13:8; 17:8).
God, in knowing the end from the beginning, planned that the Redeemer would give of His life for the sins of the people. The words from the cross is an example: "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23:34). Did the Father grant the wish of His only begotten Son? If we dont think so, how can we believe He forgives us?
Again in another place Christ said, "....I lay down my life...No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself.." (John 10:17-18) This was voluntary on His behalf, "Lo I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, 0 God." (Hebrews 10:7)
As students of the New Testament, let us look at a couple of sermons by Peter and Paul. They gave these shortly after Christ left His flock in Jerusalem.
"Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: This man given up by the fixed counsel and foreknowledge of God having been fastened through the hand of lawless men ye killed" that is, fastened to a tree (see 5:30) the Roman means of execution. (Acts 2:22 & 23 - verse 23 from the Greek New Testament).
"Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne" (Acts 2 29).
"For the promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." (Acts 2:39) This promise is also to us from the nations who, though we were "afar off", have been called by the Father to join His people and become living stones in the Temple of our God.
Stay with us as we examine the real meat of the Word. The Sovereignty of God and the free will of man are parallel lines which never cross. It is a paradox which no person can reconcile. But when asked the question, "Which is greater: God or man?" - do we have a problem with the answer?
GOD IN HIS MERCY AND FOREKNOWLEDGE AND DETERMINATE COUNCIL used HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE ISRAEL, to perform His good pleasure. That is, Gods determinate council was to use His chosen people as priests to deliver the Lamb of God to the Romans, bringing about eternal salvation for all mankind. (Please read the following verses: Isaiah 45:15; 17; 19; 25. and Isaiah 46:9-13) With no exception He died for them and rose again for them, they are His. He has redeemed them, and the price was the blood of Yeshuah HaMesheach, Jesus the Christ, the Anointed One. In Him the Promise of the Covenant is fulfilled (Romans 15:8).
Acts 3:18-21; "But those things, which God before had showed by the mouth of all His prophets, that Christ should suffer, He hath so fulfilled .... the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And He shall send Jesus Christ; which before was preached unto you: Whom heaven must receive, until the time of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His Holy Prophets since the world began."
What is meant by restitution? We learn from Hebrews 1:13; 10:13 and Psalm 110:1 that His enemies are to be made His footstool. The enemies of Israel can go just so far and then the Mighty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will act in judgment described many places in the Bible, as in the book of The Revelation. The world will not like His reaction to their actions against Israel.
The Messiah, the Blessed One, the Anointed One of Israel must fulfill all these prophecies which he did not fulfill at his first coming.
When Israel looked upon these truths, as through a prophetic telescope they were seeing the mountain tops of the experience of the Messiah. When one looks through a telescope, the what you wish to see is pinpointed and brought close. They saw the mountains of prophecy but not the valley between the two comings and accomplishments of Messiah. They were all there, but could not be seen for they were out of range of prophetic understanding. (Please read again Isaiah 45:15; 17; 19; 25. and Isaiah 46:9-13).
Israel saw the mountain top experiences, the highlights of the reign of Messiah. Isaiah 9:6 mentions the Messiah would be born, and then within a colon, God wraps up almost 2000 years to finish the fulfillment of this verse, that is, that the government would be upon His shoulders.
In the valley of 2000 years, Christ through the Church has taken this Word of the Lord to the peoples of the earth, in order to gather out from the Gentiles, a people for His Name, (Acts 15:14). Jesus said, "Other sheep I have which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd." (John 10:16) This He has been doing to fulfill the Scriptures.
Let us look at verses 25 & 26, in chapter 3 of Acts: "Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which GOD made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindred of the earth be blessed. Unto you first GOD, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities." Jesus came to bless His people and to bring eternal salvation.
Moses said in Deuteronomy 30:3 "...GOD will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations..." For him to return he had to have been here before, in Jerusalem, in Israel.
Climax of Aliyah
The mighty GOD is bringing back from the nations of the earth the children of Israel, to their land for the greatest climax of history ever, the return of Messiah, to the earth and Israel. Then all the governmental affairs of the earth shall be in righteous judgment by the righteous rule of Messiah.
In the book of the Revelation we hear John saying, "No man is worthy to open the book and to read the book, neither to look thereon... Weep not; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book,...l beheld, in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain...." (Revelation 5:3-4) "Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed them [Greek original] to GOD (Israel and the whosoever will) by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation. And hast made them [Greek original] unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." (Revelation 5:9-10)
Remember and ponder this: "there is to be one fold and one shepherd". This is why the events of the end of the twentieth century are so important. The zenith climax of history is about to break. Israel must come back to the land.
Aliyah (return) is not a vacation, or a short term engagement, it is a call and command from the ALMIGHTY, to come home for this experience that will supersede all known experiences through time. Events are coming to pass that shows the coming of the Messiah, again, is near. Many in Israel are looking for Him and expecting Him anytime now. Is the Church ready for His return?
"I Jesus....l am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely....Surely I come quickly, Amen." (Revelation 22:16-17 & 20). Let us do the expected of the LORD and, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Psalm 122;6) and cry with the Apostle John, Even so come, King Messiah. (Revelation 22:20).
