|Help Build Up Zion
By Chris Josephson
"Where your treasure is there will your heart be also" (Matt. 6:21 & Luke 12:34).
Back in the latter 50s, Elmer Josephson was praying how he might be practical in the Biblical knowledge hed received concerning the restoration of Israel. Out of the Blue the thought came, "Tell Christians to invest in Israel bonds."
Since Elmers retirement to the realm of the righteous dead, we have continued this project, though without the enthusiasm and success which he had!
Media recently has not been encouraging concerning investments. I heard a Christian minister advising Christians that in the light of the stock market crises, the safest investment is government bonds. Our heart and call from the Lord to Zion immediately kicked in: NOW is the time to invest more than ever in Israel.
No Fault Record
The State of Israel has never defaulted in the payment of matured Israel Bonds. Through the years we have never heard anyone say, "I couldnt cash in my Israel Bond." Remember this is an INVESTMENT, not a donation.
Are we aware our Lord and Redeemer is giving us as believers a crucial test and opportunity to prove our faith real in the blessing of Israel financially with (not a gift but) an interest-paying loan? All true prophetic Bible scholars know we are living in "Israels Day." It began May 15, 1948 when Israel proclaimed itself a Jewish State (Read Luke 21:24)
The enemy is aware Israel is being stretched to the breaking point in trying to care for the multiplied thousands of Jews pouring in from Russia and other lands, while confronted daily with a peace [read it "piece"] process which thus far has served only to take away Israels promised land.
Somewhat parallel to the historic setting given in the Book of Esther, Saddam Hussein of Iraq is another Haman whose main target is to destroy Israel. All else is prelude. It is not coincidental that Saddam Hussein expects to rebuild the Babylonian Empire and rule the entire Mideast after destroying Israel. Not only Iraq, but Iran and Syria have greedy eyes on the Promised Land. HOWEVER, the LORD has divergent plans.
We, who call ourselves Bible believers, are the ones He is really putting to the test. Let us never forget Israel is eternally under the everlasting Abrahamic Covenant. Read again Genesis 12:1-3 - the Preamble to that Covenant. God drew up a never-failing, everlasting true insurance policy with the double-protective clause, "I will BLESS them that bless thee: and I will curse him that curseth thee." However, the last promise is the greatest of all, "In thee shall all the nations of the earth be blessed" with World Redemption. Read the ramifications (details) of the Covenant in Genesis 17:1-21. THREE times He states it is" everlasting" and NINE times it is "MY Covenant." The Apostle Paul clearly reveals our faith is contingent upon this Covenant: "And if ye be Christs, then are ye Abrahams seed, and heirs according to the promise" (Gal. 3:29). The promise to whom? To Abraham and his family tree through Isaac and Jacob.
This is why satanic forces are seeking to destroy Israel. God will fulfill His eternal promises regardless but we have the privilege of helping by stretching ourselves beyond ordinary faith. Let us trust God in the purchase of Israeli Certificates or Bonds (Contact us for further information.)
Most of us are living "hand to mouth" but remember this is not a gift but a loan to Israel with interest. And remember the additional blessing of Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love thee." Try Him. He cannot lie.
And there are much greater ways than money to repay us! Think and Recall: what God has given us through Israel! Every Word of His in His Book and the Redeemer Himself who "took not on him the nature of angels but the seed of Abraham" (Heb. 2:16), and said, "Salvation is of the Jews" (John 4:22). All this in the light of II Corinthians 5:10-11a. READ IT!
