Editorial The Enemy is...Who? Me? We hear, "Its not about sex, its about perjury, about betrayal, about putting the presidency in jeopardy, etc., etc." In other words, its not about breaking Gods 7th commandment, its about breaking U.S. laws. But any argument that might be used, takes it back to the 7th commandment and a life-style dominated by its infringement. In Elmers article beginning on the next page, he tells the "why" of the sad story, not only of our president, but the potential in us all. Jesus taught much about it, such as, "If any shall come after me, let him deny himself [his self]... For what is a man advantaged if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? For whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Fathers, and of the Holy angels" (Luke 9:23-27). The last part of this passage, together with a like passage in Luke 17:33 with its context, shows that the life-style of "Just saying NO!" to selfish lustful living, is particularly necessary at end-time judgment days. The Apostle Paul spoke plainly about it, and said, "If ye live after the flesh, ye shall die!" (Romans 8:13). BUT "Its the Economy" Yet because of the good life of American economy, according to the polls the American people still say, "Keep Clinton in office!" Prosperity and self-indulgence is chosen over righteousness. So who are the law-breakers? Who should be "impeached"? Cant we learn from history that moral decay from within destroys a nation? If we werent lawless at the grassroots our White House would be righteously "white". We just dont seem to believe the Book: "Righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people." (Proverbs 14:34). We welcome your comments, whether critical or encouraging. It helps to know you are there. Please write us with your questions and suggestions.
