"Death

Editor’s Introduction: At the The deterioration of the Jericho area since the PLO take-over is marked by the opening of a Casino where tourists and Israelis can gamble. Gambling is a no-no for Islam. It’s against Israeli law for Israelis to gamble there, also, but since it’s under PLO control . . . . Excerpts from Elmer’s parable about Jericho based on II Kings 4:38-42 are apropos to understanding "what’s cooking" today. IT WAS IN THE AREA OF JERICHO, the old Prophet Elisha was conducting Yeshiva – a Bible seminary class – when he remembered there was no food on hand for dinner. He instructed his servant to gather some vegetables out of the field for the pot of stew. The servant did not know he had gathered some poisonous herbs. When they all began to eat, the students began crying out, "O man of God, there’s death in the pot." Elisha told them to pour it out. They did, and no harm came to them. THE CHIEF Political Nutritionist of the Universe wishes for all nations to "prosper and be in health". Therefore, He chose a family in whose kitchen (homeland) His recipe book would be published, with all The Creator’s nourishing, sure-success dishes man would ever need or want. One among many of the tried and proved recipes found in the Book is, "THIS BOOK of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" (Joshua 1:8). THERE ARE SOME who attempt to discredit the King-Appointed Publishers who were chosen to record His recipes. To do so would discredit the Book itself and thereby in turn, discredit the Author. However, they have always failed in their underhanded tactics to their own ultimate disgrace. IN 1948 these special Authorized King’s Book Publishers, who were constantly refused service in so many ‘restaurants’ (nations), established their own kitchen again (in the King’s sovereignty). In the short time they have been in business they have prospered far beyond others long in the same field. They are surrounded by a chain of restaurants that are attempting (unsuccessfully) to put them out of business. The King Himself has decreed that His Police Force will never permit this. He has posted a warning for those who attempt to harm His chosen; and a reward for those who help and patronize them. A LOT OF DISHES are being cooked up in political kettles around the world, and the recipes are sent to the King’s country. Everyone claims their recipes are the best. But it is being noticed that the proof of the pudding is in the eating – and digesting. It is evident some have the toxins of falsehood, injustice, bitter bigotry – so much so that some in that land are rightly crying out, "There’s death in the pot". THE U.S. RESTAURANT, the largest in the world, professes to follow the Authorized Recipe Book which encourages the serving of the Bread of Life from heaven’s table, the meat of His word, the wine and fruit of His Spirit (love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance - Gal. 5:22,23), and the milk of human kindness. Yet it is evident that some of our political cooks refuse to follow the recipes of the Book and are slipping poison in the pot. Some of US in the super-restaurant also are crying, "There’s death in the pot." What’s the solution? We must get back to the living, vital vituals of the Book that produces life, not death; love, not hate; righteousness, not wickedness; peace, not frustration. If the other establishments refuse even the principal of "the meal" of honesty and right-dealing of the Book, then we should refuse to patronize or be part or parcel of any wrong-doing lest we be partakers of their poisonous ways. It is wise to consult with the Chief Nutritionist of the Universe who advises: "EXCEPT THE LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain" (Psalms 127:1). AND THE QUESTION IS: What right has our nation – or any nation – to demand that Israel "lay aside once and for all" what GOD has written is "an everlasting possession"? "And I [The Almighty] will give unto thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Cannan, for an everlasting possession; and I WILL BE THEIR GOD" (GEN. 17:8) – NOT THE U.S.A.! There is need for "meal" (nutritional whole grain, symbolic of God’s Word) – to delete the poison in the pot. -
