No Greater Thing Than This:
"Pray for the
Peace of Jerusalem"
– Psalm 122:6

We lived in the world’s chief city – Jerusalem, while Elmer did research and writing. Many times we had occasion to walk through the streets of Jerusalem, mingling with her people and carrying out our duties while in that land chosen of God and in the city called by both King David and Christ, "The City of the Great King."

During our last residency, we were impressed with the many beautiful glass-enclosed signs on the Jerusalem sidewalks showing maps of the city. Above each one was the Biblical injunction in clear, black Hebrew and English letters:

Several years ago while in Jerusalem, Elmer asked a stone cutting artist friend to engrave the above verse on special Jerusalem stone. The first one he made Elmer gave to the Garden Tomb Association and it was placed over against the "bunker" – incidentally, where we have had many communion services with our tour groups. The stone is placed at the head of the path that leads to the plateau where tour groups get the best view of Mount Calvary, Golgotha, "the place of the skull".

This issue’s cover picture is of this stone located on The Garden Tomb grounds.

Jerusalem is World Center Stage where Messiah is due to appear, fulfilling all Messianic prophecies and establishing all Kingdom blessings. The spiritual battle between the Sons of Light and Sons of Darkness is evident. From the beginning to this day, and clearly evidenced throughout history, Satan’s chief target is Israel – and will be to the end (Gen. 12:1-3; Rev. 12:1-17).
