By Gershon Salomon of Temple Mount Faithful
Yesterday evening (8th January, 2001), 500,000 Israelis, secular, religious and ultra-religious, stood in front of the Temple Mount and the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem and in a very exciting historical moment together swore faithfulness to the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.
They swore in the name of the Israel nation as did their forefathers thousands of years ago in the same place: “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy.” (Psalms137:5,6) This was the climax of an historical event and demonstration which occurred at a very critical time in the history of Israel when so many enemies of the G-d and people of Israel want to take the Temple Mount and Jerusalem away from us and make it no longer Jerusalem, the mountain and city of the G-d of Israel, but an Islamic Al Quds.
It was no accident that this event took place at the same time that President Clinton stated in the United States that he will do everything he can to see that Israel will be divided and that a “Palestinian State” will be created in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, the most Biblical areas of the land of Israel, and that its capital will be on the Temple Mount, and the Biblical Jerusalem, named Al Quds, under “Palestinian” sovereignty. It is only G-d Who caused this demonstration to be held at the same time as President Clinton was making his evil, anti-godly statement.
In the name of all Israel, the mayor of Jerusalem, Ehud Olmert, stated at the event that the G-d and people of Israel will never give in and allow this to happen. He stated that Jerusalem was founded by the G-d and people of Israel by the greatest king of Israel, King David, to be the eternal capital of the G-d and people of Israel because of Mt. Moriah, the house of G-d, the Temple Mount in the midst of it. He stated that the Temple Mount is the heart, soul and eternal focus of the Israeli nation and their beloved G-d. Jerusalem was built thousands of years by the Israelis before Arabs occupied Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The Temple Mount and Jerusalem was never an Arab Islamic or any other religious or national capital. For 1300 years the Moslems had the opportunity to make Jerusalem their capital and they never did so. The Pope and the Catholic Church which also controlled Jerusalem during history never made the Temple Mount and Jerusalem their capital; they preferred Rome. Throughout history Jerusalem was only ever an Israeli capital.
The link between the G-d and people of Israel and Jerusalem is unique in the history of all mankind. From all parts of the world, Jews and Israelis pray and hope towards one place, the Temple Mount, to the Holy of Holies of Israel, to the hill of the G-d of Israel. He said that the Temple Mount expresses and symbolizes all their hopes for redemption and the return to the promised land. All these enemies who are trying to take the Temple Mount and Jerusalem away from Israel do not understand the meaning of this dear holy site to Israel and that, in any case, there is no chance that they or any others will succeed to rob us of them. Many millions of Israelis died in the defense of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem and millions are ready today to sacrifice their lives and to die for Jerusalem. Jerusalem is and will always be one and undivided. Olmert sent this message to President Clinton: You will not succeed in your negative efforts but you will be remembered in history as the first president of the United States who suggested and acted to divide Jerusalem and take it away from the G-d and people of Israel.
The mayor was very excited when he expressed the great importance and the deep link between Israel and the Temple Mount when he said: 4,000 years ago the first Jew, Abraham, was sent to the Temple Mount by the G-d of Israel to be tested by Him by sacrificing his son, Isaac on this holy hill. 3,000 years ago King David liberated the Temple Mount and even bought it for its full price and obeyed the word of G-d and dedicated it to be the holy hill of G-d and His temple. He brought the Ark of the Covenant to the Temple Mount at an exciting moment in the history of Israel. His son, King Solomon, built the first temple and after its destruction, the Israel nation returned to the land [from Babylonian captivity] with the main purpose of building the second temple for the G-d of Israel. Hundreds of years later, the second temple was also destroyed. Since this terrible day in the history of Israel, the Israeli nation never forgot the Temple Mount and Jerusalem and will never forget them. Their prayers, hopes, struggle and millions of Jewish sacrifices were to come back to the Promised Land, to Israel, and to rebuild the temple and the eternal capital of Israel, Jerusalem and after G-d fulfilled our prayers and dreams there is no-one in the world who can take them from us again. We did not take land, cities or holy places from any other nation but what G-d gave us in an eternal covenant and promise 4000 years ago, and now forever.
On this very exciting evening there were many other speakers, men, women, boys and girls from all the sectors of Israeli society today. None of them were politicians and it was good. It expressed the deep feelings of everyone in Israel. So often people had tears in their eyes when they saw children, new Israelis who had recently come from Russia and other places of the exile, a former president of the Israeli Supreme Court, ex-soldiers from the Israel Army who fought in all the battles of Israel against her enemies, some of whom had been wounded, who stood before the hill of G-d, the Temple Mount, and Jerusalem and swore faithfulness to the G-d of Israel, the Temple Mount and Jerusalem and all the land which G-d gave to them...
As one of our dear friends stated, it is nothing less than a miracle that the Temple Mount has become the focus of secular and religious Israelis. Everything in Israel is a miracle, especially everything connected to the Temple Mount, the hill of G-d. G-d is directing the history of Israel and we can feel the hand of G-d on every event which takes place in Israel in these end-times in which we are now living. Every year more and more people in Israel, secular and religious, and all over the world have understood our campaign more and more and have joined our struggle...
They join us and encourage us and say that our campaign was the most important campaign in the modern history of Israel. More than this, so many groups, secular and religious, are now being formed and join the campaign for the Temple Mount...
We are no longer alone in our struggle for the Temple Mount, for the rebuilding of the temple, and for Jerusalem. We could feel the presence of G-d in this exciting event and I know that after this evening their will be many others and very soon we shall see the rebuilding of the house of G-d on the Temple Mount. I never doubted that it would happen. I trusted the Word of G-d in prophecy and I thank Him with all my heart that He answers our prayers to accomplish it in our lifetime. Very soon we shall see the fulfillment of our dreams, visions and struggles. Something godly and great is happening in Israel and even among so many people all over the world. In the near future there will be even more and more.
It looks like that until this moment we shall pass through difficult events including the Gog and Magog war that everyone in Israel feels will soon come about. These are the birth pains of redemption and the G-d of Israel promised that He would fight for Israel as in the days of battle and defeat all the enemies. So we are very strong with G-d and His promises and very soon we shall see the fulfillment of all His prophetic words and his wonderful vision and desire will become reality. “The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. And many people shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths; for from Zion shall go forth Torah, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall decide for many people; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, nor shall they learn war any more. O house of Jacob, come, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.” (Isaiah 2:1-5)
Yesterday the Israeli nation entered a new stage in her history. The renewing of the deep link between Israel and the Temple Mount, which over the last 33 years since the liberation of the Temple Mount and Jerusalem during the Six Day War has been in Arab Islamic captivity, expresses a new stage in Israel’s march towards the accomplishment of G-d’s prophetic plans with Israel: the rebuilding of the temple and the making of Jerusalem the real capital of the G-d and people of Israel alone and then the focus of all the earth. Nobody can stop this godly process which is now taking place in the land of Israel. I advise everyone in the world to pay attention to this godly revolution that Israel, the people of G-d, is now passing through and will continue to do in the near future. I advise everyone to lift their eyes to the Temple Mount, here will be the reason and focus of all these prophetic godly events.
I call on everyone in the world to join themselves to the 500,000 Israelis who stood in front of the Temple Mount and swore faithfulness to the G-d of Israel, to His holy hill and to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the G-d and people of Israel. In this way they will trust and swear faithfulness to the G-d of Israel and the Universe but, at the same time, they will fulfill the commandment of G-d to the nations of the world to assist Israel to fulfill this godly revolution in the holy land of Israel, and in this way to open a new era in the life of all the nations, a godly era of morality and a real peace. The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement calls on everyone to be a part of the godly, historical, prophetic end-time campaign and together to bring all of this to pass and to overcome all the enemies of the G-d and people of Israel which are now so numerous. In G-d we trust and together we shall soon see the great godly fulfillment in our lifetime. -
